Tom Brady’s career is ended, and he means it this time. The renowned quarterback retired in 2022, only to return to the field with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the following year. He will not, however, reverse his choice this time.

The NFL legend revealed the decision on social media, writing an emotional letter on Instagram.

“Good morning people,” Brady said, apparently agitated, in a video posted to Instagram. “I’ll get right to the point: I’m retiring. For the long haul.

“I know the procedure was a pretty huge deal last time so I figured when I got up this morning I’d just push record and let you guys know first. So I won’t belabour the point; you only get one long, super-emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year.

“Really, thank you very lot. Thank you to everyone who has helped me. My family, friends, teammates, and rivals… I could go on and on since there are so many.

“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to fulfill my perfect dream.”

“I love my family, I love my teammates, I love my friends, I love my coaches, I love football, I love you all,” Brady captioned the post.

Brady is widely regarded as the finest quarterback in NFL history. Brady led the New England Patriots to 17 division titles, 11 of which were consecutive, 13 AFC Championship Games, nine Super Bowl appearances, and six Super Bowl titles in 18 seasons.

He then relocated to Tampa Bay in 2020, where he won two more division titles and another Super Bowl, bringing his total to seven.
